Outline

Opened in December 2003, Nebesa is an eco accommodation with four two-person cabins designed to inspire quiet relaxation on the slopes of Ručnovka na Kuku, near Livek in the south-west Slovenia. Nebesa sits on a plateau at 900m overlooking the transition between southern Mediterranean landscape and the Julian Alps that offer some interesting adventure opportunities from a comfortable base.

Services included in the price

  • Self-service breakfast with organic produce – butters, jams, wine, beer, salami, fruits, cheese and wines.
  • Access to swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and relaxing room in complex.
  • Use of Nebesa bikes.

Adventure

In the Summer the nearby Soča river is fit for rafting, canyoning, canoe or kayak, all offered by X Point in Kobarid, 10 minutes from Nebesa. Six bikes are available for free on request and with plenty of mountain paths in the Soča Valley and with guides available you could find yourself on wheels for days. Alternatively take a horse out for the day from a nearby ranch to explore Slovenia’s least developed region from the saddle.

For winter excursions, Nebesa is 40 minutes from two of Slovenia’s ski resorts, Kanin and the larger Cerkno. Check the Cerkno ski map to see whether this suits you abilities. X Point also offer ski and snowboard rental during the winter so if theres enough snow around Nebesa make your own discoveries nearer the cabins.

The lodge provides maps of the surrounding area so whether you plan to go in the summer or the winter, request maps in advance to plan some excursions using your own equipment. The landscape is great for snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter and when snow melts away during the spring, fishing on the Soča is worth a cast.  During the summer, make your own trail around the valley on foot or by bike.

Other Information

Nebesa is open all year with the busiest months being July and August. Bookings need to be made some months in advance for this period.

Roughly a meter of snow comes at winter.

The nearby villages of Goriskja Brda (wine tasting), Slovenska Benecija, Friuli, Cividale and Udine can be worth exploring.

Visit the World War 1 Soča Front and the Kobarid Museum if you want to make some cultural visits to the area.
